Description
Development of the Biber started in 1965 and two prototypes were build in 1969. The rear of the vehicle, which was based on the Leopard 1 MBT, was extended to be able to house the bridging mechanism. First production batch commenced in 1973 and was completed in 1975. The vehicle is produced by Machinenfabrik Kiel (MaK) with EWK of Kaiserslautern as subcontractor regarding production of the bridges. A total of 105 vehicles have been delivered to the German Army.
Set consists of 5+5+5 fine metal 1:600th/3mm scale miniatures.
