Description
The Turán tanks were a series of Hungarian medium tanks of World War II. They were produced in two main variants: the original 40M Turán (or Turán I) with a 40 mm gun and later the 41M Turán (or Turán II) with a short-barreled 75 mm gun, improved armour and a new turret.
The 41M Turán II was a Hungarian medium tank that served in the latter half of World War II. It was an improved version of the earlier Turán I, developed to address the shortcomings of its predecessor’s armament against more modern Soviet tanks like the T-34. Its most significant upgrade was a new, larger turret housing a short-barreled 75 mm 41.M gun, a low-velocity weapon that was a major improvement over the 40 mm gun of the Turán I. While its short-barreled gun and relatively thin armor made it largely ineffective against the frontal armor of Soviet T-34s at long range, it could still be a threat at close quarters and was a capable tank against infantry and lighter armored vehicles. Approximately 195 Turán II tanks were produced between 1942 and 1944.
Set consists of 15 fine metal models.
