Description
In the lead-up to World War II, the French military, particularly its infantry, was regarded as one of the most powerful in the world. It was well-equipped, with numerous infantry divisions, but its tactics were largely based on the lessons of World War I.
The French Army’s infantry divisions were categorized into three types: active, “A,” and “B.”
– Active divisions were regular units, typically at about two-thirds of their full strength during peacetime.
– “A” divisions were high-quality reserve units.
– “B” divisions were of a lower quality, with diverse and often poorly maintained equipment.
At mobilization, reserve soldiers were called up to bring all units to full strength.
Set consists of 15 fine metal 1:600th/3mm scale miniatures.
