Description
The L-4 Grasshopper was a light liaison and observation aircraft developed by the U.S. during World War II. A military version of the popular civilian Piper J-3 Cub, the L-4 was an unarmed, two-seat monoplane known for its simple design and excellent performance at low speeds.
The L-4 played a significant role in the European and Pacific theaters, providing crucial aerial observation that could not be achieved by larger, faster aircraft. It was a vital link between frontline troops and their command, and its low-speed capability allowed for precise observation of enemy positions and adjustments of artillery fire.
Set consists of 8 fine metal 1:600th/3mm scale miniatures.
