Description
The Renault UE Chenillette was a light, armored carrier produced in large numbers by France in the years leading up to World War II. It was designed to serve as a versatile logistical support vehicle for infantry divisions.
The UE Chenillette was a two-man vehicle with a very low profile. Its primary role was not combat but rather to act as a tractor and supply vehicle. It was used to tow light artillery pieces, such as the 25mm anti-tank gun, and transport ammunition and other supplies to the front lines. It had a small, tilting cargo bin at the rear with a capacity of about 350 kg, and it could tow a tracked trailer for an additional 600 kg of cargo. The crew of two sat in a cramped, fully enclosed compartment, protected by thin armor (up to 9mm) that was sufficient against small-arms fire and shell splinters but not against dedicated anti-tank weapons.
Set consists of 15 fine metal 1:600th/3mm scale miniatures.
