Description
The Tracked Rapier is a self-propelled, short-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system developed to provide mobile air defense for ground forces. It was designed by the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) and is a mobile version of the towed Rapier system.
It is mounted on a modified M548 tracked cargo carrier, which is a variant of the M113 armored personnel carrier. This gives it the ability to keep up with armored formations on the battlefield. The system is equipped with eight Rapier missiles, which are mounted on a turret that can rotate 360 degrees. This is double the number of missiles carried on the original towed launcher.
Set consists of 15 fine 3D-printed 1:600th/3mm scale miniatures. Models are sold with print supports and need side-cutters and hobby knife to remove them.
